As part of the Mascom Classics label, you are presented with another part of the musical universe of the most prominent Serbian composer. From the day when, at the age of five, she began to learn music, and throughout her life, the piano in the musical wizardry of Isidore Žebeljan (1967–2020) was the permanent and strongest link between the conceptual, imaginative world of music and real sound.
She performed very often as a pianist and gave concerts and recorded with the famous Brodsky Quartet from London, whose members were delighted not only by her genius music but also by her masterful performance. She was a musical virtuoso.
As a music creator, Isidora worked extremely hard in the theater, composing theater music, parts of which she played on the piano and recorded. Those wonderful theater miniatures, in addition to Isidore's concert compositions for the piano, make up the collection "Ballads - Piano Music". "In all those brilliant compositions, the sparks and lights of Isidore's tender, powerful, thin, irresistible musical soul are preserved. And she will conquer anyone who immerses herself in this collection of incredibly wonderful melodies, magical illuminations of emotional desires and their nuances, chivalrously daring and indomitable juggling rhythms, in this collection of ballads, which bring tears to the eyes but also wipe them away. They soothe with a deep faith in the spiritual "Eternity, whether we are traveling strangers, stopped in a roadside tavern, or lonely lovers who are just discovering the scents of their love. It awakens joy in all of us, and we will always surrender to it, as a place of final consolation, a place of final, bright serenity," said Dr. Borislav Čičovački, on the occasion of this digital release.
Academician Isidora Žebeljan was a prominent Serbian composer of the younger generation and a regular member of SANU. House MASCOM is dedicatedly working on the project of publishing the complete musical oeuvre of Isidore Žebeljan (1967-2020) in digital format, in cooperation with the late artist's husband, composer Borislav Čičovački.
