Spanish folk-fusion band Los Niños de los Ojos Rojos (NOR), known for their experimental genre blends, have released a new single titled “Hard Folk”, in collaboration with Bosnian-Herzegovinian group Dubioza Kolektiv. The release coincides with Los Niños de los Ojos Rojos celebrating 25 years of music, and the track is already making waves for its potent sound and intensity.
“Hard Folk” captures the band’s essence from Extremadura: a mix of traditional folk sounds (with Irish and Balkan influences), combined with rap, ska, reggae, and funky elements. Working with Dubioza Kolektiv adds extra dynamism — energetic vocals, cultural spillover, and a strong festival-stage vibe in the video enhance the overall impact.
Los Niños de los Ojos Rojos formed around 1999-2000 in Cáceres, Spain, and over the years have developed their signature “Hard Folk” style — combining folk traditions, Balkan and Irish influences, plus rock, hip hop, ska, and more. Their discography includes albums like Venga enseguida, Hijos del humo, Lo veo todo claro, and Regreso a la comarca.
Dubioza Kolektiv, from Bosnia & Herzegovina, known for their energetic fusion of reggae/dub, ska, rock, and socially conscious lyrics, brings to the song their trademark edge — they aren’t afraid to experiment, to challenge, and to amplify voices of the audience.
The video for “Hard Folk” visually mirrors the song’s energy — lively stage presence, cultural mashups, raw performance power, and a celebration of music without genre boundaries. The single is accompanied by teasers and media promotions, and is available now on all streaming platforms.
