The American rock band Aerosmith (Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer), multiple GRAMMY award winners, residents of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the British multi-platinum, award-winning young rock star Yungblud have joined forces and with the single "My Only Angel" reveal the details of the upcoming joint EP release called "One More Time".
"My Only Angel" is the first presented song created in collaboration between musical rock legends and one of the most outstanding rock voices of today. The song opens with Tyler's powerful a cappella vocals. Echoes of the guitar, rumbling bass and drums maintain the rhythm tensely, and the piano notes are softly heard... Yungblud and Tyler meet drawn into the hypnotic harmonies of the chorus until Perry's recognizable guitar solo is heard that burns the boundaries, emphasizing the chemistry between two generations of rock.
"Deciding to make this music with Yungblud... was like plugging right into the electricity!", Steven Tyler stated. "For Joe and I it was another cosmic collision... to find myself in the studio with this incredibly talented and positively wild animal named Dom. Here's this kid living his life to the fullest... he grew up on our records and the wave of British music at the time... and now we're in the studio together creating something that bridges the generations. He admired some of the greats he grew up with... and then he started to dream. And that's it," says Tyler. "The first time we sang and played together, there was an unspoken vibration throughout the studio immediately... it reminded me of the car wheels vibrating in my seat when the boys and I first drove to Boston 50 years ago. That same deep sense of urgency happened. To make it... great... something fresh and new... and let it last forever. That's how rock 'n' roll is done! Yungblud wants this chapter in rock history and he asked us to be a part of it. We hit it off... the atmosphere in the room was great from the start... and it was a real honor to work with him! Rock 'n' roll becomes timeless when you put your heart and soul into it... that's when the magic happens."
"Aerosmith have always been a pillar of rock 'n' roll for me and an example of mutual stage relations, so I've been ready for this all my life! As soon as we entered the studio, the chemistry exploded and the songs just flowed out of us. This is the kind of collaboration that the young me would never have dreamed of - so it really amazes me to sit here holding a vinyl in my hand that says Aerosmith and YUNGBLUD.
Steven and Joe are at the top of their game and working with them is a huge honor. I record with my heroes, the concerts are crazy every night and rock 'n' roll is waking up, whether you like it or not. I enjoy every second!", concludes Yungblud. Yungblud (real name Dominic Harrison) met these rock giants for the first time in a music studio while recording his own nine-minute epic single "Hello Heaven, Hello". The chemistry immediately flowed through their musical veins, so what was a casual meeting evolved into a get-together that turned into the joint creation of music - to be precise, five songs that will be presented on the EP.
Along with the just-released single, the collection combines Yungblud's energy with the band's distinctive musicianship: Hamilton's bass is the anchor of the arrangement, Perry's and Whitford's guitars stand out with a recognizable fervor, while Tyler's unique vocals intertwine with Yungblud's also special. On this occasion, long-time friend Matt Sorum, former member of Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver, joined the release on drums. Announced for release on November 21 by Capitol Records (Universal Music Group), the EP "One More Time" is also the first studio release after 12 years, with the producer signature of Matt Schwartz, bringing new music from the group Aerosmith. A total of four new songs are jointly signed by Aerosmith and Yungblud, on all of them the singers share vocal parts, and as a special treat they also recorded a new version of Aerosmith's rock classic "Back In The Saddle".
The release of the song "My Only Angel" along with the announcement of the EP "One More Time" comes after an impressive performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, which is the most watched of this year's awards ceremony.
