Together, two legends - Charly García and Sting, have a wonderful combination: In the City

The legendary Argentine musician Charly García has joined forces with British rock icon Sting on the track “In the City”, recently released along with its accompanying video. This collaboration between two musical giants, whose paths have seldom crossed, brings together a unique fusion of Latin American sensibility and British art-rock sophistication.

Carlos Alberto García Moreno, known professionally as Charly García, was born on October 23, 1951, in Buenos Aires. Over nearly five decades, he has become a cornerstone of Argentine rock, founding influential bands such as Sui Géneris, Serú Girán, and La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros, and releasing 47 official albums. His distinctive mix of poetic lyrics, irony, and experimentation has left a lasting mark on Latin American music.

“In the City” blends García’s emotional depth with Sting’s unmistakable elegance, crafting an atmospheric urban ballad — an ode to city life, encounters, and transience. The video amplifies this sentiment, visually intertwining Buenos Aires and London into a shared, cinematic rhythm.
