Japanese dance and vocal group BE:FIRST have released their new single and video “I Want You Back”, a contemporary reimagining of a Motown classic. The seven-member group is signed to BMSG, the management and label of acclaimed Japanese rapper SKY-HI, who also produced the track together with Sunny.
The original song was written by Gordy Jr Berry, Alphonso James Mizell, Frederick J. Perren and Deke Richards, with additional lyrics by SKY-HI and Sunny. The arrangement was handled by Sunny and Zen, while the video was directed by Denki Imahara.
BE:FIRST have already topped numerous Japanese charts, and with “I Want You Back,” they take another confident step toward the global stage.
